Crete has mild Mediterranean winters and hot summers, with high sunshine 12 months a year, very small seasonal changes in temperatures and rare extreme weather conditions.
There are many ways to get from Gouves to Heraklion Airport (HER). You can use public transportation, hire a taxi, or rent a car or van from many rent-a-car shops in Kato Gouves.

Anopolis is a small picturesque village located just three kilometers south from Kato Gouves and almost 15 kilometres from downtown Heraklion. From the old village of Hersonisos to Anopolis the distance is about 16 kilometers.
Plaka is a small traditional fishing village just 13 kilometers north of the town of Agios Nikolaos in Lasithi with a tiny port and crystal clear waters
Piskopiano village is between the old Hersonissos and the Koutouloufari village, in the Hersonissos Municipality located on the slopes of Mount Harakas
